We primarily fish out of Winchester Bay, Oregon. But depending on the fish activity, we also fish out of Florence, Oregon and sometimes Charleston Harbor, Oregon.

Meet the Captain
Captain Shawn Holgate became hooked on fishing at a young age because of his father, who instilled in him a love for the sport. Growing up, Shawn embraced fishing wholeheartedly, becoming an avid sportsman with an appreciation for the outdoors. Today, as the captain of Dragon Slayer Charters, Shawn shares his lifelong passion with others, providing unforgettable fishing experiences in Winchester Bay, Oregon and neighboring ports.
Captain Shawn believes that everyday is a great day to fish! Born and raised fishing on the Umpqua River and the Oregon Coast, his love for fishing runs deep. He spends as much time on the water as possible. When he isn’t on the water, he’s thinking about the water, checking fishing reports and weather apps to stay dialed in on weather conditions.
With 15 years of service in the Army and Army National Guard, Shawn has a strong commitment to serving others. He particularly enjoys taking families / kids out on the water to teach them the value of fishing and the wonder of being out on the Big Blue Pond. He also enjoys spending time with other Veterans by getting them out on the water to engage in a mutually enjoyable activity.
